Real-Time Data Acquisition and Control under Linux
Do you want to run a DAP board under Linux? If so, register your name, company, and e-mail address here and download the binary form of the driver for free. Using an iDSC board? Look for more information on DSCview for Linux. Do you need a custom version of this specialized software? Contact the System Integration group for more information on the solutions they can offer. Microstar Laboratories supports a limited set of commercial Linux distributions. Contact us for details. The ACCEL Driver file that you will download contains the Linux Data Acquisition Processor driver binary and its associated files. From the menus below, select the file for the Linux version and DAP board you use. Once downloaded, uncompress the file and expand it with the utility tar. Use the command You may choose to use the Accel32 Server instead of the ACCEL driver. The Accel32 Server is now available for Linux and offers many features that the Windows Accel32 Service does using the DAPIO32 interface. Customers should use this server if they want to develop applications that take advantage of these features or are compatible (at code level but not at the binary level) with Windows applications. For more information on the features available, take a look at the DAPIO32 documentation on your DAPtools CD. Don't have a CD? Download a copy of the DAPtools Basic CD; this includes all of our user manuals and the software for Linux. See our Privacy Policy to learn where your data goes when you click Download Now.
Version notes1. The Accel32 Server was added April 2002. It is for PCI boards only and is not compatible with the PCI Accel drivers for Linux (PCIDAPS), also downloadable here. The file ACCEL32.TGZ contains the Accel32 Server for Linux binaries, the installation script and all the other files needed to use the Server and develop applications. The file must be uncompressed and expanded using the utility 'tar'. Copy this file to an installation directory, change to that directory and run the following command. After that, run the 'INSTALL' script from there to install the Server. 2. Accel32 Server, v. 1.03: This version was added March 2006 and updated to v. 1.03.1 June 2007. It is expected to work with all 2.6.x kernels. It has been tested on distributions built on Linux kernel versions 2.6.18, 2.6.13, and 2.6.11. Support only is offered for these three distributions and not for any kernel older than 2.6.11. This release supports the version 4 gcc compiler. See also the Readme file. 3. Accel32 Server, v. 1.02.1: This version was added January 2004. It updates the software to include support for kernel 2.4.21 distributed by SuSE 9.0. This release supports recompilation of the driver for Linux 2.4.x kernels built with gcc 2. No functional changes from previous versions. 5. Accel32 Server, v. 1.00: The Accel32 Server for Linux download provides pre-compiled binaries for single processor Linux kernels 2.4.2, 2.4.4, 2.4.8 and 2.4.10. The installation will automatically pick the right version for the target system or recompile the server for the target system if a precompiled one is not available (provided the target system has all the required development tools installed). 6. ACCEL PCI Driver, v. 1.06.1: This version was added January 2004. It updates the software to include support for kernel 2.4.21 distributed by SuSE 9.0.
