Version notes
- The Accel32 Server was added April 2002. It is for PCI boards only and is not compatible with the PCI Accel drivers for Linux (PCIDAPS), also downloadable here. The file ACCEL32.TGZ contains the Accel32 Server for Linux binaries, the installation script and all the other files needed to use the Server and develop applications. The file must be uncompressed and expanded using the utility 'tar'. Copy this file to an installation directory, change to that directory and run the following command. After that, run the 'INSTALL' script from there to install the Server.
tar -zxf ACCEL32.TGZ
- Accel32 Server, v. 1.04: This version was added December 2010. Compiling the kernel driver code requires the version 4 'gcc' compiler.
This release includes variants that should work with any 32-bit version 2.6 Linux kernel through version 2.6.35. Distributions using kernels newer than this might use an incompatible compiler or kernel build configuration. This Accel32 Server software has been compiled and tested with Suse 10.2, Knoppix 6.3, Fedora 13, and Fedora 14 with Linux kernel 2.6.13, 2.6.31, 2.6.33, and 2.6.35. View the Readme file.
- 2. Accel32 Server, v. 1.03: This version was added March 2006 and updated to v. 1.03.1 June 2007. It is expected to work with all 2.6.x kernels. It has been tested on distributions built on Linux kernel versions 2.6.18, 2.6.13, and 2.6.11. Support only is offered for these three distributions and not for any kernel older than 2.6.11. This release supports the version 4 gcc compiler.
- 3. Accel32 Server, v. 1.02.1: This version was added January 2004. It updates the software to include support for kernel 2.4.21 distributed by SuSE 9.0. As in the previous version 1.06, released June 2003, this release supports RedHat 9.0 Linux and the version 3 gcc compiler. No functional changes from previous versions.
- 4. Accel32 Server, v. 1.01: This version was added November 2002. It provides a pre-compiled binary for SuSE 8.0 with Linux kernel 2.4.18 running on a uni-processor machine. This release supports recompilation of the driver for Linux 2.4.x kernels built with gcc 2. No functional changes from previous versions.
- 5. Accel32 Server, v. 1.00: The Accel32 Server for Linux download provides pre-compiled binaries for single processor Linux kernels 2.4.2, 2.4.4, 2.4.8 and 2.4.10. The installation will automatically pick the right version for the target system or recompile the server for the target system if a precompiled one is not available (provided the target system has all the required development tools installed).
- 6. ACCEL PCI Driver, v. 1.06.1: This version was added January 2004. It updates the software to include support for kernel 2.4.21 distributed by SuSE 9.0. As in the previous version 1.06, released June 2003, this release supports RedHat 9.0 Linux and the version 3 gcc compiler. No functional changes from previous versions.
- 7. ACCEL PCI Driver, v. 1.05: This version was added November 2002. It provides a pre-compiled binary for SuSE 8.0 with Linux kernel 2.4.18 running on a uni-processor machine. This release supports recompilation of the driver for Linux 2.4.x kernels built with gcc 2. No functional changes from previous versions.
- 8. ACCEL PCI Driver, v. 1.04: The Linux kernel 2.4.x release download supports the 2.4.2, 2.4.4, and 2.4.10 kernels. It also it provides support for you to re-compile the driver for your target 2.4.x kernels (single- or multi-processor) if you have the required development tools installed on your machine.
