For the iDSC 1816, a special purpose DAP board, Microstar Laboratories includes appropriate software from DSCview in explicit support for LabWindows/CVI.

For general purpose DAP boards, Microstar Laboratories provides language-level support through the DAPIO32 interface. PC applications communicate with DAPL through this interface. Any 32-bit Windows programming language or application that can call DLL functions - LabWindows/CVI, for instance - can use the services of the DAPIO32 interface to transfer commands and data to and from a DAP board.

Although designed to work with C++ rather than C, the DAPIO32 interface can support C code with minor modifications to its header. So the DAPIO32 interface can support LabWindows/CVI. Contact our application engineers for more information on this.

Developers familiar with C or C++ can extend the functionality of DAPL by creating command modules by using the Developer's Toolkit for DAPL.

This means that anyone using compiler-provided IDE implementations like Microsoft Visual C++ and Visual Studio or Borland C++Builder to build applications on a PC under Windows can use the same tools to build applications to run on a data acquisition board under a real-time operating system.
